Lee Rawlings - Lab Director, Owner

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, University of Utah
  • Master's Degree in Public Administration, BYU Marriott School of business.

Lee began his college education at UVSC and eventually moved on to the University of Utah. To gain laboratory experience during college, he began working at Aqua Surveys. While at Aqua Surveys, Lee learned how to culture ceriodaphnia, Fathead Minnows, and to perform WET tests (WET Stands for Whole Effluent Toxicity Testing, also known as Biomonitoring). 


During his senior year of college, Lee went on to be hired by Salt Lake City to perform their WET testing. He was trained in the various procedures and methods of the lab. 

Lee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and began working at Richards Laboratory, running their WET testing. In 1994, Lee and Richards parted ways, and he purchased the WET testing portion from Richards. He named the new business Water and Environmental Testing Inc., which he and his wife, Jer still own almost 30 years later.

In 1997, Lee was hired by South Valley WRF as the lab director. 


In 2006, Lee was awarded the Laboratory Excellence Award from the Water Environmental Federation. 


In 2009, Lee graduated #4 in his class from the BYU Marriott School of Business in Public Administration


In 2013, Lee was promoted to General Manger of South Valley WRF.
